Fuck you dbags who wear the fake glasses to deem yourself cool. You are not cool at all in fact. You don’t understand the pain and acceptance of glasses. You do not appreciate what my people went through. We dealt with years of ridicule in grade school of glasses or, worse, goggles for basketball….

Nathaniel: “You hang onto your pain like it means something, like it’s worth something. Well, let me tell you, it’s not worth shit. Let it go. Infinite possibilities and all he can do is whine.”
David: “What am I supposed to do?”
Nathaniel: “What do you think? You can do anything, you lucky bastard. You’re alive. What’s a little pain compared to that?”
David: “It can’t be so simple.”
Nathaniel: “What if it is?”

pavement- transport is arranged
pavement are one of those few bands that are so perfectly encapsulated in what they are, that comparing them to anything else just doesn’t work. people who call weezer ’pavement-lite’ clearly don’t understand either band, and bands who cover pavement (i’m looking at you, bomb the music industry!) can never tap in to their essence.
and while i wish i could sit here and tell you that accepting malkmus’ vague lyrics for what they are despite their lack of specificity is kind of like accepting the mysterious future of post-school life; while i wish i could say the dissonance, harsh grungey chords and drawled vocals are symbolic of the struggle, anger and laziness that i’ll embrace over the next indeterminate period of time; and while i wish i could use a cheesy line about how my transport isn’t arranged anymore… to me this song is too good for that.
